These light duty refuse sacks are made from recycled polythene. We need to find more ways to reduce the amount of virgin plastic produced globally and re-use as much plastic that is already in circulation as we can, so these do represent an improvement on bags made from virgin plastic. However, these are still not a great solution as inevitably they will end up as plastic in the ground anyway and the benefits of manufacturing from a recycled material will be a distant memory when they do. A better and greener solution may be our Vegware Waste Sacks and Bin Liners which are 100% home compostable and made from Vegetable Oil and Thistle Starch.
